PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SWS Environmental Services (SWSES) has expanded its Texas operations to Galveston. The newest location for SWSES was chosen for its maritime proximity on the Texas coast, providing for new services to the shipping, barge and petrochemical industries. The location comes complete with 200 feet of bulkhead for mooring - and access to an additional 6,800 feet - enabling the unique ability to service industry via the Intracoastal Waterway and Galveston Bay for marine-based needs.
"SWS Environmental Services is very excited about the prospect of expanding our client base in the Galveston area as well as the opportunity for organic growth as we continue to expand our reach throughout the Gulf of Mexico regions," said Jim Weber, CEO of SWS Environmental Services. "In these economic times, this new location is a testament of our continued commitment to longstanding customers as we strive to provide the services they need along the Gulf and more."
Given the bulkhead space and maritime surroundings, naturally the focus of the new location will be marine services. They include but are not limited to ship-to-shore mobile facility transfers, barge and vessel docking, hydro-blasting, tank & barge cleaning, emergency spill response, oil spill removal organization (OSRO) commitments, vacuum truck services, roll-off services, and waste transportation & disposal.
To serve the needs of clients that may require emergency response services, this location is equipped with fully stocked emergency response trailers, response boats, boom and skimming equipment, and trained personnel. All Galveston personnel are 40-hour Hazwoper trained and certified, have been approved by TWIC for entry to the port, and are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Additionally, the waterfront location allows direct and immediate access to the entire surrounding marine environment, significantly reducing response times to these areas for water-born spills.
For those clients in need of routine or periodic industrial or in-plant services, SWSES is positioned in numerous ways; U.S. Coast Guard permitted to perform over water transfers (bilge waste, grey and black water, oil and solid wastes); bulkhead docking space for barge and vessel cleaning complete with confined space entry and rescue services; turnarounds, exchanger cleaning, line mole and pipe cleaning; vacuum trucks and combo rig sewer jet units for vacuuming solid materials, sewer line cleaning and hydro-excavation; bobtail and tractor trailer units roll-off box delivery; transportation of hazardous and nonhazardous wastes to designated disposal facilities; and turnkey waste services include lab packing, waste characterization, profiling and disposal.
