Synapse Association Hosts Grand Opening Event of Mental Health Clinic in Davis, California
Mayor Brett Lee to attend event and lead ribbon cutting ceremony
DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Synapse Association, a behavioral health clinic offering cutting edge treatments and evaluations spanning a wide spectrum of mental illnesses, announced today that it will celebrate the grand opening of its facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 7. The facility will offer a variety of treatment options including suboxone induction treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and BrainsWay's Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS), a non-invasive alternative to medication. Mayor Brett Lee of Davis, California will be in attendance at the event.
"Today, nearly 16 million Americans suffer from clinical depression, and it is important that we recognize this growing issue," said Mayor Lee. "I am pleased that this new clinic will offer additional treatment options for people in our area."
Dr. Mina Hah is triple-board certified in addiction medicine, adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. In the new facility, she will offer treatment for addiction, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety. Servicing roughly half of patients suffering from depression, who do not respond to their antidepressant medication, Synapse Association is offering Deep TMS, an effective, non-invasive alternative to medication that stimulates the region of the brain responsible for depression. The facility will offer Deep TMS for depression at its opening and will incorporate the treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) at a later date.
"In California, over one million adults have serious thoughts of suicide – that is a tremendous number," said Mina Hah, M.D., founder and CEO of Synapse Association. "As a psychiatrist working in Yolo County and Sacramento County, I am eager to help those suffering in my local and surrounding communities. Recognizing the importance of tailored therapeutic options to meet the needs of each patient, I am proud to offer cutting edge alternative therapies to my patients to help them manage their mental illness."
