SYNTHEON to Launch New Addition to its accel-E® Panel Product Line and Feature Elemix® Concrete Additive in Modular Facility at Greenbuild® 2011

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pittsburgh-based SYNTHEON Inc. will showcase its sustainable building envelope solutions during the Greenbuild® International Conference and Expo (October 4-7, 2011). Two of the company's signature products include Elemix® concrete additive and accel-E® Steel Thermal Efficient Panel (S.T.E.P.) Wall System. Elemix additive will be featured in the floor of GreenZone's High-Performance Medical Facility at Greenbuild, while SYNTHEON will introduce a new 16-gauge, 6-inch accel-E panel. Attendees are invited to visit the SYNTHEON booth, # 1431N, located outside of the Concrete Solutions Pavilion, where they can experience the products first-hand and also register to receive a complimentary white paper on the future of lightweight concrete.

During Greenbuild, SYNTHEON will launch a new 16-gauge, 6-inch accel-E panel that will be added to the company's product lineup.

SYNTHEON's Elemix concrete additive, a lightweight synthetic particle used as a partial replacement for conventional fine or coarse aggregate to reduce the weight of concrete, will serve as a high-visibility component of Building Design+Construction's GreenZone High-Performance Medical Facility located outside the entrance of the South Hall of the convention center. As an important component of the heath care center's flooring, Elemix provides structural strengths that produce durable, energy-efficient concrete that reduces construction costs, and resists cracking. Designed to reach LEED Gold standards, the facility is being built for Greenbuild by NRB Inc., a modular construction industry leader headquartered in Grimsby, Canada, that specializes in permanent off-site construction.

Attendees will be able to tour GreenZone and learn about the latest in sustainable design principles and products including Elemix additive. The facility highlights the benefits from building in a controlled off-site environment – an inherently greener construction process. GreenZone will be open for tours during show hours from October 4-7, 2011 and will be next to Building Design+ Construction's booth. A piece of the health care center's floor containing Elemix will be on display both in GreenZone and at the SYNTHEON booth.
