Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc. to Present at the Gasification Technologies Conference 2010
HOUSTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYMX), an alternative energy technology company that provides advanced technology products and solutions to the energy and chemical industries, announced today that Carrie C. Thompson, Vice President of Technology, will present data on the Company's U-GAS® technology for the gasification of lignite and other low rank coals at the Gasification Technologies Conference 2010, on Tuesday, November 2, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The conference will take place from October 31 through November 3 at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC.
"Lignite and other low rank, low-cost coals are abundant and accessible in emerging countries such as China and India and have the potential to address the growing energy needs of these and other emerging countries for many decades to come," stated Robert Rigdon, President and CEO of Synthesis Energy Systems. "However, low rank coals are not currently utilized widely because of the difficulty and expense for conventional coal technologies to process these coals. Our patented U-GAS® technology has demonstrated the ability to gasify these low rank coals in an environmentally friendly and affordable manner, potentially opening up these tremendous resources for widespread energy and chemicals production, particularly in emerging markets where access to clean, affordable energy is limited."
Mr. Rigdon continued, "Since we first demonstrated our ability to gasify lignite at Zao Zhuang last year, we have seen significant new interest from potential partners around the world who are looking for the right solution to meet their current and future energy needs. We are actively engaged in discussions with numerous potential partners and licensees in many emerging countries and we look forward to completing additional license agreements over the coming months and years."

About Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc.
Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc. provides advanced technology products, including its U-GAS® fluidized bed gasification technology and related services and equipment, to enable the clean conversion of low cost coal and biomass feedstocks into high value energy and chemical products, such as transportation fuel and ammonia. U-GAS® technology, which the Company licenses from the Gas Technology Institute, gasifies coal cost effectively, without many of the harmful emissions normally associated with coal combustion plants. The primary advantages of U-GAS® relative to other gasification technologies are (a) greater fuel flexibility provided by our ability to use all ranks of coal (including low rank, high ash and high moisture coals, which are significantly cheaper than higher grade coals), many coal waste products and biomass feed stocks; and (b) our ability to operate efficiently on a smaller scale, which enables the construction of plants more quickly, at a lower capital cost, and, in many cases, in closer proximity to coal sources. The Company currently has offices in Houston, Texas, and Shanghai, China. For more information on SES, visit www.synthesisenergy.com or call (713) 579-0600.
