SEATTLE, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Tableau Software, the global leader in rapid-fire business intelligence software, today announced that its 5.2 release will offer native connectivity to Microsoft's new in-memory engine, PowerPivot. PowerPivot users will gain from Tableau's world-class data visualization, one-click analytic maps, and powerful dashboard capabilities. The 5.2 release is due out in mid-June.
"Tableau's integration with PowerPivot and SharePoint 2010 continues to deliver on our mission to help people see and understand their data no matter what the format," said Dan Jewett, VP Product Management. "Tableau 5.2 will help SharePoint 2010/PowerPivot developers and administrators deliver self-service business intelligence capabilities including browser-based analytics, powerful dashboards and Tableau's industry leading data visualization."
Connectivity with SharePoint 2010/PowerPivot offers new capabilities that leverage PowerPivot and SharePoint 2010. For example, with one click of a button, users can create highly detailed, geographic maps of their data for every part of the world. Users can drill from Tableau to PowerPivot data sources for deeper, browser-based analytics and can even embed the same data visualizations in the SharePoint 2010 portal. People can access DAX calculations with Tableau or create new calculations directly in Tableau.
Tableau's products provide browser-based business analytics anyone can use. Users can connect to virtually any data source and rapidly create interactive dashboards, reports and visualizations. In just a few clicks, they can share their work so that anyone using a browser can interact with and benefit from the live analytics. Tableau is a replacement of the slow pace and rigidity of traditional business intelligence software.
Tableau Software is exhibiting at Booth 2644 at this week's Microsoft Business Intelligence Conference in New Orleans' Morial Convention Center.
