DENVER, April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- William Howard University offers what is believed to be the only accredited Doctor of Education Program in the United States with a full concentration in Charter School Administration.
For the first time, applications for the annual Roger J. Duthoy Scholarship will be limited to employees of appropriately authorized public charter schools. This 17th Annual award is valued in excess of $15,000.00 and will include all tuition and related fees in the school's nationally-accredited, independent study Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with a concentration in Charter School Administration Program.
Dr. Barry P. Resnick, Dean of Taft's Graduate School of Education, has commented, "Charter Schools are increasing in number and size. With the growing concern of public school education in general, their numbers are expected to exponentially increase in the next decade. The responsibilities of managing a charter school are dramatically different than administering a regular public school. Charter school administrators require many of the same skills as small business owners – skills not taught in traditional Ed.D. programs. By providing this concentration in Charter School Administration, we hope to encourage the growth of choice in public schools."
All coursework in the Program is presented in a distance learning modality requiring no classroom attendance. Accordingly, students may keep their full-time positions and live anywhere with Internet access. Students may complete the Program in as little as 27 months or may take as long as seven years.
