Tahoe Pacific Hospitals To Provide Services Within Northern Nevada Medical Center

RENO, Nev., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tahoe Pacific Hospitals has entered into a lease agreement with Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC) and will relocate its Reno West facility to NNMC later this summer.  The 21-bed long term acute care hospital, currently located on the campus of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, will move eight miles to NNMC's Sparks campus at 2375 E. Prater Way in August.

Tahoe Pacific Hospitals Meadows location is not included in the agreement and will continue to operate on the first floor of Renown Health's South Meadows Medical Center.

The physician-led clinical teams with Tahoe Pacific Hospitals include nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists, mental health professionals and nutritionists all working together to address the complex needs of their patients.  Patients at both Tahoe Pacific locations often have been transferred after a stay in a hospital Intensive Care Unit and require high observation monitoring for pulmonary, cardiac or neurological illness or injury. Both facilities accommodate high-intensity services such as bedside peritoneal dialysis, cardiac monitoring and mechanical ventilation.

Nearly 400 physicians serve on the medical staff of Tahoe Pacific Hospitals. Physicians are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to conduct patient assessments, address urgent medical needs, and provide high acuity care for patients.  The clinical staff at Tahoe Pacific Hospitals are all certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and a high proportion of the nursing team is comprised of Critical Care Registered Nurses.
