Tampa Personal Injury Attorney Hendrik Uiterwyk Receives Jon E. Krupnick Award

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Tampa personal injury attorney Hendrik "Henk" Uiterwyk of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk has received the Jon E. Krupnick Award from the Florida Justice Association for his tenacious representation of a client who suffered traumatic brain injuries in a motor scooter accident.

The Jon E. Krupnick Award is awarded annually to a trial lawyer whose efforts on behalf of a particular client reflect relentless commitment, perseverance and fortitude to seek justice and achieve success through all obstacles and legal roadblocks encountered.  

In 2009, Uiterwyk's client was riding his motor scooter when he was rear-ended by an at-fault driver, and suffered a traumatic brain injury that resulted in severe brain damage. In 2011, a jury awarded the client a net verdict of $11.1 million. Because the driver's insurance company provided only limited coverage and refused to pay the full award, Uiterwyk persisted for over eight years -- through two trials and six appeals -- to get justice for his client. The case was settled in 2017 for an undisclosed amount.
