Tapjoy Names Larry Berkin as Vice President and General Manager of Asia-Pacific
Former Symbian Foundation SVP hired to accelerate Tapjoy's growth in Asia-Pacific region
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tapjoy, Inc. (www.tapjoy.com), a leading independent mobile advertising network, announced today the addition of Larry Berkin as vice president and general manager of Asia-Pacific.
An industry veteran with deep roots in mobile platform management and mobile ecosystems, Mr. Berkin will be responsible for expanding Tapjoy's operations in Asia-Pacific countries. Mr. Berkin will work closely with key partners in the region to build Tapjoy's ad-funded model of mobile application distribution into the mobile ecosystem throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Berkin joins Tapjoy having most recently served as the senior vice president of global alliances and was general manager of USA & APAC at Symbian Foundation, the non-profit organization that stewards the Symbian mobile operating system. While there, Berkin forged key relationships with top handset manufacturers, wireless operators and thousands of mobile developers worldwide, and was integral to helping the Symbian platform evolve into an open-source operating system.
Previously, Berkin was vice president, ecosystem and corporate business development for Tokyo-based ACCESS, the acquirer of PalmSource and best known for the NetFront mobile browser used in one billion devices. He has also held senior management positions in product development, marketing and business development at Palm/PalmSource, Excite@Home, Island Graphics and Broderbund Software.
