SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Saborea Puerto Rico "A Culinary Extravaganza" will take place from April 1-3 celebrating the best in Caribbean traditions and worldwide flavors with chefs from Puerto Rico and around the world. San Juan's blue flag, Escambron Beach is "center stage" of a weekend full of flavor and taste. Enjoy tastings from 60 of the island's finest restaurants, rums, wine, beer & distilled spirits with over 50 international and local Culinary Personalities.

Going on its fourth year, Saborea Puerto Rico has an unparalleled lineup of Chefs and personalities prepared for culinarians. Local celebrity Chefs Roberto Trevino, Mario Pagan, Giovanna Huyke, Marisoll Hernandez, Angel Santiago, Efrain Cruz, Fernando Parrilla, Mario Ferro, Germania Diaz, Juan Pena and Pablo Budet have already confirmed their participation to show off many of the delectable dishes that have positioned Puerto Rico as a world-class gastronomic destination.
Furthermore, making their mark in this year's Saborea Puerto Rico are famed Latino and Iron Chef Jose Garces; this season's Iron Chef Winner Marc Forgione; Cooking Channel's Latina chef Daisy Martinez; Ted Allen, host of Chopped; Anne Burrell of America's Worst Cooks; and Robert Irvine of Dinner Impossible, all aired on the Food Network.
Also, notable chefs, Govind Armstrong of Los Angeles; Douglas Rodriguez and Harry Pagancoss of Miami; Denisse Oller, Alex Garcia and Maximo Tejada from New York; and Francisco Castro and Kalych Padro of Panama will be participating.
Each day, guests visiting the Saborea Puerto Rico Village will enjoy samples from Puerto Rico's restaurants. Nine (9) daily demo kitchens will provide visitors with the opportunity to be able to learn the techniques and ingredients to prepare recipes the way the experts do. A one day pass allows "foodies" to access all areas for tastings and demonstrations.

The Festival has a Kids Pavilion adjacent to Saborea Puerto Rico Village. For a modest price, kids will learn the preparation of some simple meals and snacks. Games, cooking, arts & crafts are just some of the activities planned.
