LAS VEGAS, April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Altrient, Inc., a maker of high-performance nutritional supplements and a Silver Sponsor of the 2012 CrossFit Regionals, will be in the Denver area on May 4-6 for the Southwest Regional Qualifier at the Douglas County Event Center. Altrient™ spokesperson, Cheryl Brost, who earned the title of 7th Fittest Woman in the World at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit World Games, will also be on hand to help introduce the company to CrossFit athletes and fans.
"I'm thrilled to have Altrient™ as my personal sponsor for the 2012 CrossFit season," Brost said. "I'm looking forward to helping the Altrient™ team build solid relationships with the CrossFit community and the people of Denver."
Brost, a 5'2", 127-pound, 40-year-old mother of two from Eugene, OR, will continue her quest to become the Fittest Woman in the World at the CrossFit Northwest Regionals near Seattle, WA, later this month. In the meantime, she is maintaining her rigorous training schedule, running her own companies and supporting Altrient™ on the Balance Your Life Tour 2012 presented by the popular women's morning TV talk show, The Balancing Act, on Lifetime Television.
While in Denver, Brost will also be available to local and national media to provide expert background, analysis and commentary on the CrossFit program and competitions from the unique perspective of an elite athlete and a top contender.
"It's a real challenge to keep everything in balance – my commitments to fitness, business and especially my family," Brost explained. "The only way I can make it all work is to make sure I'm healthy and staying healthy begins with excellent nutrition and the best vitamin C."
Brost cites the key role of vitamin C in her nutritional program. "My diet is based on whole foods that are rich in important macronutrients. But I've learned that in order to compete at the level of a Games athlete, I need essential micronutrients to help release more energy from the foods I eat, and help my body to recover from intense workouts and competitions."
Known as a powerful antioxidant that promotes and protects optimal overall health, vitamin C also aids in the production of collagen, which helps strengthen and repair ligaments and other connective tissues – critical stress points for all athletes.
"When I started working with Altrient™, I also started taking their Altrient™ C high-dose vitamin C supplement after training," stated Brost. "I have a higher training volume, a lot less muscle fatigue, and a faster recovery cycle. That's a big competitive advantage."
Along with Altrient™ C, Brost also relies on the B vitamins, trace minerals and cinnamon extract in Altrient™ ME™ to help her body burn fuel more efficiently and release more energy.
"I need huge amounts of energy in order to train, compete and win," said Brost. "ME™ provides a safe, natural energy boost, but it also helps remove a lot of harmful toxins from my body. These can cause tissue degeneration and joint inflammation that can really reduce my performance."
All Altrient™ products have been evaluated and approved by CrossFit.
"The CrossFit Regionals demand even higher performance from each athlete," Brost concluded. "Only the top three men and women from each region make it to the finals in LA, so I have to make sure I'm totally prepared. I'll be talking to people in Denver about the benefits of good nutrition and about Altrient™, but I won't miss a single workout and you better believe I'll be scouting the competition."
