ST. LOUIS, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TechGuard Security®, a provider of proven technologies and services that protect critical networks from cyber attack, today announced that its Common Criteria certified PoliWall® Network Security Appliance is fully compliant for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). In alignment with World IPv6 Day and President Barack Obama's recent directive that all U.S. government agencies upgrade their IT infrastructures in support of IPv6, TechGuard is ready to help customers meet government mandate and position for new growth with IPv6-ready cyber security solutions.
The PoliWall appliance was researched and developed in part with assistance from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Advanced Technology Program (ATP), the US Army, and the GSA 8a STARS program. It is a network security appliance that rapidly determines the country of origin (category) for all incoming packets using HIPPIE® (High-speed Internet Protocol Packet Inspection Engine) technology. Packets are filtered according to customer-defined policies, proprietary Pre-Compiled Exception Lists (PCEL®s) and unique exceptions that are bound to rule groups for specific network addresses and protocols. Stop a Country with a Click® with virtually no network latency.
- Suzanne Magee, CEO at TechGuard Security, said: "The nature of our business is to provide solutions and security products for large government agencies, financial institutions and health and commercial enterprises. It is critical that our products are ready in advance of any new protocols. We knew the need for IPv6 compliance was rapidly approaching and I am proud to say that our product has already been tested in high-level government IPv6 labs and is ready to go."
