TechQuest Pennsylvania is now the Technology Council of Pennsylvania
New name reflects statewide presence and diversity of membership
HARRISBURG, Pa., April 12, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TechQuest Pennsylvania announced this week that it is rebranding under the name Technology Council of Pennsylvania. The move to the new brand more accurately reflects the diversity of its membership and the fact that the organization represents technology companies from across Pennsylvania.
The new brand signals that the organization has a statewide reach, with over 200 member companies from all across Pennsylvania. Member-companies are providers and users of technology in a wide variety of industries, including: telecommunications, software development, information technology, web hosting and design, finance and professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, education, government and biotechnology.
"Our organization represents a strong, diverse technology industry across Pennsylvania as a whole," said David Bonsick, President and CEO of the Technology Council of Pennsylvania. "Our vision as the Technology Council of Pennsylvania is to enhance the Commonwealth's economic development and prosperity by fostering the growth of a strong technology industry. This new brand is really born out of necessity as our strong programs, initiatives and services has resulted in companies from across the Commonwealth wanting to be a part of our organization," continued Bonsick.
The Technology Council of Pennsylvania was originally launched in 1990 by a group of business and civic leaders who recognized so many years ago the tremendous opportunity that lie ahead -- for both the region and the Commonwealth – in harnessing the benefits of the rapidly growing technology industry and to take advantage of Pennsylvania's long history of embracing innovation. As membership expanded beyond the immediate central Pennsylvania region, the Board of Directors and the membership as a whole recognized the need to adopt a brand that truly represents the organization's reach as well as its mission.
"Technology Councils are well-known across the industry as the go-to resources for educational programming, development and network opportunities, and general business assistance," said Bonsick. "We need to have a brand that reflects that role that we play within Pennsylvania's industry. Thus, we decided to move away from TechQuest and back to the more well-known vernacular of a technology council," continued Bonsick.
In addition to rebranding its marketing and membership materials, the Council will be launching a revamped website reflecting the brand change in the next few days. The website can be found at http://www.tccp.org.
