WALTHAM, Mass., March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN) today announced the sale and delivery of two INV-100 Ultra InVerde® combined heat and power (CHP) units to provide domestic hot water and space heating to a school district located in North Central New Jersey. The sale, through a regional office of a multi-national Energy Services Company (ESCO), is part of a comprehensive energy savings project for the school district. The units will be installed separately, one in a middle school, the other in a high school.
"School districts and other public entities looking at large-scale energy savings programs turn to ESCO's to develop and implement the best energy technology solutions," said Robert Panora, President and COO of Tecogen. "These companies have come to regard our products as standard tools in their large-scale energy assessments, which are highly complementary to our direct sales efforts in the private sector."
The units will provide each school with backup power in the event of an outage and are equipped with Tecogen's patented low emissions system, Ultra, which exempts the units from requiring state air permits and the related obligations (regular third party tests, etc.).
