Teen Addiction Treatment Facilities Give Back With Beach Clean Up Event

VENTURA, California, August 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Destinations to Recovery is proud to partner with Engage and Changing Tides Treatment to host Ventura's first annual beach clean-up event.

Destinations to Recovery "Focuses on the ownership and involvement of the community for all those affected by addiction and mental illness. So our ability to further engage in the community and create positive experiences is important," said Dr. Candice Till, PsyD, Vice President of Clinical Services.

"We are looking for ways to participate and give back to our community in a meaningful way. Knowing the important role the environment and beaches are to Ventura and the fact that they are sometimes overlooked, we wanted to take action" says Ari Stark, Vice President of Operations at Destinations to Recovery.

The Ventura beach clean-up event is open to the public. The event will be held near the pier and all supplies will be provided to the participants with the assistance of the state beach commission. Destinations to Recovery is able to offer community service credits for those that are interested in participating in this event.

The first 100 people to register for the clean-up event will receive a tee shirt and smoothie from the Good to Go Smoothie Truck that will be on site. Participants are encouraged to wear sunscreen and bring additional water with them.

The Destinations to Recovery, Ventura facility has been open for over one year and provides outpatient treatment and educational services for teens with addiction and/or mental illness living in the local Ventura area.
