Teen apparel brand Garage hosts exclusive Marianas Trench concert for Ontario high school Corpus Christi, winners of GET LOUD

MONTREAL, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ - On February 20th, 2011, the Garage brand, known for its flirty casual fashion, hosted an exclusive VIP concert for the students of Corpus Christi High School of Burlington, Ontario. The school was crowned winner of the video-based "Get Loud" contest, which saw high schools across Canada and south of the border compete for the chance to win a private show by Marianas Trench - the Juno nominated, Canadian pop-rock band.
Launched in September 2010, the "Get Loud" contest asked students to submit videos showcasing their Garage spirit. These videos were cast, directed and edited by the participants themselves. They were posted on the contest's platform, getloud.garage.ca, which also enabled the uploaded content to be shared with friends on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. The entries were subject to an online voting process which closed on November 15th, 2010. The videos generated over 317,900 votes and more than 13,000 comments on the getloud.garage.ca platform. Contest buzz was also generated on the brand's site & Facebook.
The concert took place Sunday night, in Burlington Ontario, where hundreds of excited teenagers rocked out to their favourite Marianas Trench songs. "Thanks Garage for making this dream come true; our own private concert! We'll remember this forever.", says 16 year-old Kaylin Martin, one of the students who submitted the winning entry. Garage's marketing team & Toronto's Z-103 were also on location to co-host the event.
