Teen Warrior's Abduction Launches an Odyssey Across Alien Worlds

LaMont Schiers' debut science fiction novel explores survival, discovery and perseverance in the first book of a planned seven-book series.

CENTERVILLE, Utah, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- When a 14-year-old warrior is abducted from his home planet and forced to work as a miner on a distant world, survival becomes only the beginning of his journey. "Pii's Odyssey: The Eternals," debut novelist LaMont Schiers launches a science fiction adventure that follows young Pii as he encounters unfamiliar civilizations, alien beings and advanced technology, he must hold onto the hope of finding his way home.

The first installment in a planned seven-book series, "Pii's Odyssey: The Eternals" explores perseverance, patience and the choices people make when circumstances are beyond their control. As Pii navigates an unfamiliar universe, he must learn to recognize opportunities that could change the course of his future.

"Life is challenging and oftentimes beyond our control, but what defines us is our ability to overcome by exercising the patience to wait for those windows of opportunity, and when they do, step through without reservation," Schiers said.

The idea for the series began with a vivid dream Schiers had in 2017. The resulting story explores space travel, the possibility of countless inhabited worlds and how adversity can shape a person's future. The novel is intended for readers of various ages, including young readers and fans of science fiction.
