Tegrity Lecture Capture Survey Reveals Cloud-Based and Scalable Solutions are Top Priority for Campus Technology Purchases
86% more likely to consider adopting a cloud-based educational technology service due to the ability to scale affordably; 95% of higher education institutions surveyed indicate scalability is important to consider in choosing a lecture capture solution, but ease of use remains critical in growing faculty adoption
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a recent survey of institutions using lecture capture from Tegrity, a division of McGraw-Hill Higher Education, an overwhelming majority of respondents indicated "ability to scale" was a top priority in ultimately choosing the cloud-based service. A testament to Tegrity's virtually unlimited ability to affordably scale as institutional use grows, ninety-five percent of universities surveyed indicated this flexibility was an important factor for adopting a particular course capture solution. Due to its simplicity and affordability in scaling up across an institution in the cloud, 72% expect adoption to grow 25% to 200% overall in the next 12 months.
Scalability Supported by Cloud and Integration Technology
Institutions are increasingly taking advantage of cloud-based technologies to ease the burden on their IT resources. In fact, 86% of Tegrity's survey respondents said they are more likely to consider adopting a cloud-based educational technology service due to the ability to scale affordably. Furthermore, simple LMS integration scored high for those surveyed. More than 70% said Tegrity's patented AAIRSTM integration technology, with its simple drag-and-drop interface and real-time connection to the LMS played a role in providing easy access to the technology on their campus with minimal effort from IT.
