Tempus Applied Solutions Awarded Contract With U.S. Navy
Tempus to provide airborne and land-based training services to U.S. Navy
WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Aug. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tempus Applied Solutions (TAS) announced today that the Company was a team member to one of the successful offerors selected as a prime contractor on a United States Navy indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide airborne and land-based training support to various U.S. Navy combat units. The potential value of the contract is approximately $45 million over five years.
The team of companies that includes TAS will be competing against three other prime contractors for individual task orders related to the prime contract. TAS anticipates that, under the contract, it will provide several hundred flight hours annually using its own aircraft equipped with surveillance equipment and able to provide close air support training.

TAS operates a number of specialized aircraft that participate in U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) training, operational support and research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) missions. This is the sixth contract that has been awarded to TAS so far in 2016 to provide similar missions.
TAS operates Gulfstream, Bombardier, Pilatus and Cessna aircraft with Learjets expected to be added to the fleet in the 4th quarter. Most of these aircraft have been specially modified by TAS for DoD-related missions such as threat simulation, surveillance, communications relay and various test and development programs. TAS maintains a highly qualified and skilled in-house engineering team that supports aircraft modifications, certification, maintenance and flight testing.
