Teng Ngiek Lian Joins van Biema Value Partners' Board of Advisors

NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- van Biema Value Partners, LLC, is pleased to announce that Teng Ngiek Lian has joined the company's Board of Advisors.  Mr. Teng, an experienced veteran of value investing in Asia, recently announced his decision to retire from active money management and wind down his firm, Target Asset Management Pte Ltd of Singapore, after amassing an enviable record of performance over the last 14 years.  Since founding Target Asset Management, an Asia-focused, value-oriented investment management firm, in 1996, Mr. Teng has produced compound annual returns of more than 17% per annum for his clients, placing him among the most successful Asian value investors in recent history.

In his role as a Board member, Mr. Teng will assist van Biema Value Partners in identifying and evaluating talented, small, deep value-oriented managers throughout Asia for inclusion in the firm's portfolios and will provide the firm with local market intelligence in Singapore and across the pan-Asia region.

Mr. Teng's career in Asia spans nearly 40 years, the first half of which Mr. Teng spent serving as CFO/Controller of a variety of industrial companies throughout the region.  Mr. Teng began his investment career in 1990 as a Managing Director at Morgan Grenfell in Singapore. He then served as a Managing Director at UBS Asset Management in Singapore and as Chief Executive Officer of PrimePartners Asset Management in Singapore prior to founding Target Asset Management.
