Terri Bailey Honored as the 2013 Engineer of the Year
TAMPA, Fla., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- At its Annual Conference, the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) named Bracken Engineering's senior engineer Theresa M. Bailey, PE, as Engineer of the Year. Bailey was selected out of more than 30,000 Florida Licensed engineers to represent all 12 branches that make up ASCE's Florida Section. This award recognizes Bailey's technical capabilities, professional leadership and personal achievements as well as her long standing commitment to the engineering profession.

Working in the geotechnical field since 1972, Bailey's technical areas of expertise include neutral evaluation, sinkhole claims, building/site damage claims, forensic evaluation, vibration damage evaluation, geophysical surveys and forensic geotechnical engineering.
As a long-time ASCE member, Bailey has served three of Florida's 12 branches, as well as the Florida Section itself. She has served in numerous officer positions multiple times for multiple branches, as the treasurer for the Florida Section and as the Chair of Engineering and Science Fair committees for more than fifteen years.
"It has been an honor to be selected as the Engineer of the Year. ASCE has been a guiding light for me since 1985," said Bailey. "I have always enjoyed working with kids and being the science fair chairperson. I especially enjoy hosting them at our society dinner meetings and really getting to talk with junior and high school students."
Bailey recently joined Bracken Engineering as a Senior Engineer in their Tampa office. Bailey holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of South Florida. She is a registered professional engineer in Florida and Georgia, a certified neutral evaluator for all 67 Florida counties and a Florida licensed Threshold Inspector.
