Texas Residents Benefit from New Choices for Electricity Providers
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Oct. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With Infinite Energy's entry into new markets in Texas, customers behind American Electric Power (AEP) North and Central, and Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) have new choices when considering an electricity supplier.
As the summer of 2011 marked record heat waves in Texas, customers had to use more electricity than expected in order to stay cool. As a result, electricity costs may be on consumers' minds more than usual this autumn.
Residential customers account for a little more than 794,000 of the 945,797 customers behind AEP North and AEP Central, which serve a total of 92 counties. Texas-New Mexico Power serves approximately 230,000 additional accounts.
Said Infinite Energy CEO Darin Cook, "It was our mission to be able to provide electricity in all areas in Texas by the end of 2011. We feel we offer the best products for residents. Now that the West Texas area is open, those residents can also enjoy our products."
Infinite Energy serves residential, commercial and industrial customers. The company was founded in Florida in 1994, and began serving Texas in November 2010.
In addition to the new AEP and Texas-New Mexico Power markets, Infinite Energy provides electricity in Oncor and CenterPoint territories. The company also provides natural gas in Texas to eligible customers.
