
The 11th Int'l Green Energy Expo & Conference Has Kicked off!

SEOUL, South Korea, April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The specialized exhibition related to renewable energy, 'International Green Energy Expo & Conference' (IGEEC) has opened on April 2nd which started in 2004 for the first time in Korea.
The show continuing until 4th, has added various exhibits on fusion energy including energy storage system, smart grid, e-mobility and fuel cell that launched last year, with 300 companies from 25 countries. This way, IGEEC gets ready to be real renewable energy exhibition differentiated from previous one which used to be based on solar & wind power.
Foreign large companies actively participate at the show especially in the field of solar light as domestic companies do, for economy is recently recovering. According to the Bloomberg New Energy Finance, world's demand is rising from the center of Asian areas. China, the world's biggest solar light market, will demands 12GW~14GW to maximum, 10GW for Japan, 4~5GW for USA, 2.5GW for Germany, 1.2GW for India respectively expected.
China's Leading PV Corporations will be Gathering
Solar photovoltaic (PV) corporations of China have been stirring up the industry lately. This year, the corporations that have set a goal for the advancement of 14GW PV products are gathering at Daegu. Every year, there were about 30 corporations from China specializing in PV parts, materials and other industry related products that participated in the IGEEC. In the case of this year, various companies ranging from small to big corporations that specialize in solar cell production, module and inverters are participating as well.
Especially, JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd, the world leading manufacturer of high-performance solar power products that converts sunlight into electricity is participating as a sponsor of the 2014 IGEEC. Leading the way for the solar power product of China, JA Solar developed a solar cell called multi-crystalline that boasts 19% conversion efficiency. Along with JA Solar, DMEGC, a corporation positioned for worldwide exportation, has an annual solar cell production capacity of over 1GW and annual wafer capacity of 300MW.
German Outstanding Companies Including SCHMID, KACO New Energy, Heraeus Showcase
SCHMID participates at the show as a platinum sponsor. The company was established 150 years ago. World No.1 or 2, KACO New Energy will continuously utilize the Green Energy Expo to explore Korean and Asian Markets. Heraeus comes to the show which is its 5th participation at IGEEC.
Another featured companies are CXC based in Hong Kong, ISRA VIsion from Germany, Monocrystal manufacturing Silver Pastes based in Russia.
From Korean Electric Power Corporation to Citizen Power Plant
Korean Electric Power Corporation shows its interest in new renewable energy. Its focusing area covers ESS (Energy Storage System), MG (Micro Grid), SG (Smart Grid).
Uzbekistan VIP Group and Foreign Big Buyers Such As Hanergy and Gold Wind Attend
Last November, The Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the government of Uzbekistan signed MOU, thus about 10 visitors come to the Expo to conduct business consultation with government officials. This inviting project is organized by Korea Photovoltaic Industry and generated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and The Ministry of Trade Industry.
Chinese major companies; LDK, Gold Wind, Hanergy will participate in export consultation. Big buyers of 28 companies from 13 countries will attend too, which includes Solar World from Germany, Valor Energia from Brazil, etc.
Holland Pavillion&Wind Power Seminar and Europe Pavillion
Korea Wind Energy Industry Association signed MOU with Holland Wind Energy Association on the opening day at IGEEC. They held press conference and wind energy seminar one after another targeting correspondents, and cocktail party will follow.
At Holland Pavillion, a lot of global big companies are participating including ECN which has 35 year old experiences and TNO, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research established in 1932.
110 Experts gathering at International Conferences organized by Korea Photovoltaic Industry Association and Korea Wind Energy Industry Association
This year's conference boasts of its best compositions ever. 10 programs will take place, including PV Market Insight, Wind Market Insight, The 5th International Fuel Cell Forum and Current states and Issues of ESS. 20 foreigners and 90 domestic speakers(110 in total) are ready for the speech, which will provide their insights and valuable solution of the hot issues.
The programs are set as below; 'Financing renewable and solar energy projects in Central Asia' by Senior Investment Officer Eric Peter of IFC (International Finance Corporation), 'PV System Price Analysis: methodology, status, and policy implications for industry' by Dr. Naim Darghouth of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, 'Key Business Development Trends and Market Entry Strategies for Korean Companies in the Chines Domestic Market' by Frank Haugwitz of Asia Europe Clean Energy (Solar) Advisory Co. Ltd. (AECEA), and 'Trends on global PV Technology' and 'Trends and Issues of PV Industry and Market in Europe' by Joerg Bagdahn of Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP.
