The 2012 Shanghai International Modern Logistics & Transportation Exhibition to Take Place in August

SHANGHAI, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The 2012 Shanghai International Modern Logistics & Transportation Exhibition, organized by Shanghai Logistics Entrepreneur Association and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and co-organized by Shanghai Dahua Exhibition & Conference Co., Ltd., will be held at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center on August 23-25, 2012. With strong support from Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, China Communications and Transportation Association, China Electronic Commerce Association, China Air Transport Association and China Logistics Chamber of Commerce Preparatory Group, the exhibition's organizers will spare no effort in hosting a grand industry event which will promote the showcasing and exchanges of new products and technologies.

During the 11th Five-Year Plan period from 2006 to 2010, China's logistics industry continued its rapid growth. The overall output value of the sector reached 446 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth of 21%, 2.8 times that of the previous five-year period. Costs reached 27 trillion yuan with an average annual growth of 15.6%, 2.1 times faster than that of the previous five-year period. The added value of the logistics industry amounted to 10 trillion yuan, representing an average annual growth of 16.7%, 2.2 times faster than that of the previous five-year period. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the average annual total output value of the logistics industry in China is expected to grow by 14% on a comparable basis, with costs to GDP having a ratio of around 17% and its added value having an average annual growth rate of 13%.

The 2012 Shanghai International Modern Logistics & Transportation Exhibition will occupy an exhibition area of nearly 20,000 square meters and consist of two major exhibition zones: Transportation and Logistics.  Concurrent events will include a theme forum, an exchange meeting on key topics of the day, workshops, sessions on new product releases, project bidding and trade communications, a logistics talent show and a promotion of discounted subscriptions for products displayed.
