The ABA Legal Technology Resource Center Joins the ABA Law Practice Management Section and Announces New Resources
CHICAGO, June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In this challenging market, modern law offices are increasingly reliant on technology to provide them with a competitive edge. To help American Bar Association (ABA) members and their firms leverage technology to better serve their clients, the ABA Legal Technology Resource Center (LTRC) has joined the ABA Law Practice Management Section (LPM) to deliver valuable new resources, including:
- Law Technology Today, a new legal technology blog that brings together many of the leading voices on legal technology--including Tom Mighell and Sharon Nelson--to discuss topics ranging from data security to the use of iPads in the legal practice;
- The LTRC Training Library, a series of free monthly training webinars that provide straight-forward tips lawyers can easily and quickly put into practice;
- A significantly revised and expanded LTRC website, hosting a wide variety of legal technology resources including recorded training videos, software comparison charts, free legal research tools, and technology overviews.
Together, LPM and LTRC have decades of experience providing legal technology resources to ABA members. LPM recently hosted the 26th annual ABA TECHSHOW legal technology conference, and is a leading publisher of technology books, including the bestsellers iPad in One Hour for Lawyers, Google for Lawyers, and Locked Down: Information Security for Lawyers. The LTRC has published the Legal Technology Survey Report, the most comprehensive annual survey of lawyer technology use available, for more than twenty years.
"We are thrilled to include the LTRC's resources in the body of law practice knowledge offered by LPM," said Tom Mighell, Chair of the ABA Law Practice Management Section. "The LTRC already enjoys a tremendous reputation as a source of legal technology educational content, and having it as part of LPM strengthens our position at the forefront of practice management education and programming."
