The ASPCA® and Bumble Partner for #FindYourFido National Campaign during Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog Month this October, the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Bumble have teamed up to showcase adoptable shelter dogs in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Austin as part of the ASPCA's #FindYourFido campaign, an initiative focused on harnessing social media to expand awareness of adoptable shelter dogs and help them find safe and loving homes.

Bumble is kicking off Find Your Fido in 2018 by featuring adoptable dogs in their app from select shelters in five cities across the country. The goal is to digitally introduce shelter dogs to a whole new pool of potential adopters with hopes of making matches. During the first week of October in select cities, users can simply open the Bumble app and begin swiping to see a dog in their city that needs a loving home.

According to the ASPCA, over three million dogs enter shelters each year, and new research from the organization shows that the growth of social media has had a positive impact on adoptions, with more than 65 percent of animal shelters and rescues saying social media has helped increase adoptions overall.

"Many Bumble users bond over their shared love of dogs, and it's obvious that putting a dog in your Bumble profile is a great conversation starter," said Naseem Scaglione, senior brand manager at Bumble. Bumble will also donate one cent to the ASPCA for each match made in the U.S. on October 3 in Bumble Date, Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz.

The #FindYourFido campaign will run for the entire month of October with the goal of increasing visibility of shelter dogs across the country and helping them get adopted into safe, loving homes.
