The Atlanta Improv To Hold Auditions
Improv Founder Budd Friedman to Host Open Comedy Auditions Friday, September 14th
ATLANTA, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre is seeking the best comedic talent in Atlanta. The Improv, perhaps best known for its A&E network show "An Evening at the Improv," was founded by Budd Friedman in New York in 1963. Budd will be hosting an open talent search for greater metro Atlanta comedians Friday, September 14th. Auditions will start promptly at 1 pm and be limited to the first 100 comedians to arrive. The top 10 comedians chosen by Budd will be given the opportunity to perform that evening in front of a panel of distinguished judges including Budd Friedman, Stan Weaver of the Atlanta Improv, Matt Jones, drive-time personality on Rock 100.5, and Lewis, afternoon radio personality on 98.9 The Bone. The winner of the audition will receive paid engagements at the Tahoe Improv, the Las Vegas Improv, and the opening week at the Atlanta Improv. Their name will also be included with the likes of Richard Pryor, Billy Crystal, Andy Kaufman, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Dane Cook, Ellen DeGeneres, Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, Jeff Dunham, and Dave Chappelle, who have all graced the stage of the Improv.
