The Beck Group Celebrates 100 Years of Building Success
-- Company is dedicated to making a difference in the communities in which employees work and live --
ATLANTA, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beck Group/Atlanta, an international, integrated design/build provider of project design, construction, sustainability, technology and development services, is celebrating its centennial anniversary with its 100 Years, 100 Gifts campaign.
"The twentieth century was a time of tremendous advancement and growth in the U.S., said Fred Perpall, managing director of The Beck Group's Eastern Division. "Beck's commitment to excellence as well as the company's innate ability to respond and take advantage of changes in the marketplace both then and now has allowed us to experience unprecedented success year after year, decade after decade. We are proud of our past, but even more excited about the future. The best is yet to come."
One hundred years later, the company retains many of its founding characteristics, including a deep history of giving back to the communities in which it operates. The local campaigns reflect the company's culture, where employees are encouraged to take part in community activities, even during regular business hours. Each year, Beck employees donate an average of 40 hours of time toward community involvement activities.
Each month, activities take place with selected local charities and non-profit organizations. Beck's 2012 Atlanta charity activities include:
- Architecture for Humanity
- Atlanta Food Bank, AIA CanStruction
- Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
- FurKids
- Habitat for Humanity
- Kaiser Permanente Corporate 5K
- Marietta Project Outreach, Beck Golf Classic
- Nicolas House
- United Way Drive
- We Care, Boys & Girls Clubs of America
The company's 100 Years, 100 Gifts celebration is intentionally outwardly focused on giving back to the community with the firm's time and resources rather than spending it on a self-serving celebration, especially in difficult times where there are many charities and people in need. Beck sponsors these 100 acts of charity by paying the cost of labor, time and materials necessary to complete the projects. The purpose of these celebrations is not to honor Beck, but to express the company's appreciation to the Atlanta community for allowing them to pursue their passion for design and construction for the past 100 years, as well as the next 100 years to come.
