NEW YORK, Aug. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bloc announced the appointment of Barbara LePetri, MD, to lead the medical strategy team as SVP Director of Medical and Scientific Services. LePetri will drive scientific strategy innovation at The Bloc, expanding their team of medical experts.
"We're thrilled to have such a keen medical mind as Barbara's leading our medical services team," says Jennifer Matthews, President and Managing Partner at The Bloc. "She comes to us with an unparalleled dual perspective from her experience in the medical field and in building strategically sound health brands," she adds, "and we welcome her vision for integrating our creative community with best-in-class medical prowess at The Bloc."
LePetri joins the Bloc board certified and trained in internal medicine and cardiology. She previously served as the head of the Lipitor Medical Team at Pfizer, and led the Medical Affairs Group at Sudler & Hennessey. In her new role at The Bloc, her team will partner with clients to bolster product relevance in an ever-evolving marketplace.
"In this era of unprecedented scientific and medical innovation, it's not enough to advance a brand. We need to first reframe how disease is understood, and be in a position to reveal how modern medicine continues to improve lives in the wake of tremendous and ongoing scientific progress," says LePetri.
"This is an exciting time to join The Bloc, whose strategic and creative leaders understand what it means to access meaningful science that makes products indispensable to physicians and their patients," says LePetri. "I look forward to continuing to ground our work in medically sound thinking," she adds.
