The City of Wilton Manors and Equality Florida Prepare to Celebrate Decision Day
WILTON MANORS, Fla., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The US Supreme Court is scheduled to issue a ruling on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage before the end of June, and the City of Wilton Manors is poised to celebrate this monumental decision on the day it is issued. Dubbed "Decision Day," the date of the ruling will be commemorated throughout Broward County as it joins others across the country in hosting celebrations.

"While we don't know how the Court will rule, we know that Broward is ready for the national freedom to marry," said Row Iliescu, South Florida Development Director for Equality Florida. "Here in Broward, we are proud of the diverse group of organizations collaborating as a community to mark this momentous occasion."
The planned Broward Decision Day events include a rally at the Federal Courthouse, 299 E Broward Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, 33301, at 4 p.m., followed by a gathering at Rumors Bar and Grill, 2426 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors. at 6 p.m.
"Any day now the Supreme Court will issue a ruling on the freedom to marry for all Americans," said Iliescu, "and I'm so glad to be working with other local organizations to bring as many people together as possible in celebration, no doubt, of what will likely be the single most important ruling in LGBT history to date."
The coalition of local organizations cosponsoring the Decision Day gatherings in Broward County include the City of Wilton Manors, Equality Florida, Oakland Park Democratic Club, the Dolphin Democrats, SunServe, the Pride Center, Care Resource, Our Fund, Stonewall National Museum and Archives, Florida LGBTA Democratic Caucus, Lambda Legal and First Congregational Church of Fort Lauderdale, UCC.
