SPRINGFIELD, Va., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Courtyard by Marriott Springfield hotel, located 15 minutes from Washington, D.C., is nearing completion of a comprehensive property renovation that began in April 2010. A new state-of-the-art lobby, The Bistro restaurant, Market, and business center are now finished. Renovations to the fitness center and courtyard area are in progress.
"The lobby is the cornerstone of these renovations and will enhance our guests' experience with both the Courtyard brand and their stay immediately upon arrival," said Shirley Tintaya, general manager.
The floor-to-ceiling lobby renovation has created comfortable places to eat, work and relax in an inviting area filled with stylish and flexible seating options and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. The traditional front desk has been replaced with separate welcome podiums for a more personalized check-in experience. A large, communal table, located in the middle of the action, provides a casual area to mix and mingle. Flexible and functional media pods, semi-enclosed booths with personal high-definition TVs and power outlets provide a place to work and socialize. Guests can retrieve information at their fingertips with the signature, interactive GoBoard™, a 52-inch LCD touch screen packed with area information, restaurants, weather and maps. With complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, guests can easily work and stay connected while on the road.
The Bistro restaurant provides an enhanced menu for travelers with freshly prepared meals and beverages, with Starbucks® coffee served all day. Breakfast features a wide selection of pastries, egg sandwiches, and healthy fruit and yogurt parfaits. For evening, the Bistro offers fresh hot sandwiches, entree salads, soups and a selection of craft beers and quality wines. An enhanced Market offers freshly made sandwiches, salads, beverages and snacks available all day.
A new business center features three computers, complimentary wireless Internet and printing. Guests may also work and relax in casual comfort outside in the courtyard, where a cozy new fire pit is in progress and expected to be completed later this month. A completely renovated fitness center is expected to be completed this fall.
