The Fauquier Bank Gives Back to Our Community

WARRENTON, Va., Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fauquier Bank has a rich and long-standing tradition of giving back to our local communities.  'Commitment to community' means working in concert with others to strengthen our neighborhoods.  For The Fauquier Bank, it means uniting our financial and human resources with organizations and initiatives that are making a difference.

The Fauquier Bank recently made a contribution to Community Touch, Inc. in Bealeton, Virginia.  This outreach organization offers strong support to the homeless, hungry and deprived in Fauquier and surrounding counties.  Their mission touches the lives of individuals and families by providing transitional housing and practical tools and resources to achieve self-sufficiency.

Community Touch, Inc. offers three supportive programs: Victory Transitional Housing facility, Clara's Faith House Food Pantry, and Noah's Ark.

Victory Transitional Housing (VTH) is a one-year program offering transitional housing to homeless men, women and children with a broad range of needs. The program helps individuals achieve and sustain a higher quality of life by providing access to various resources and specific training opportunities.  The Victory Transitional Housing Facility houses 40 people and is presently full to capacity.

Clara's Faith House Food Pantry distributes donated food to those in need with nearly half of recipients being children.  They feed 20-35 families a week averaging 500 people a month.
