The Fauquier Bank Sponsors Child Safety Day on December 1st

Nov 14, 2011, 10:15 ET from Fauquier Bankshares, Inc.

WARRENTON, Va., Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. (Nasdaq:  FBSS) - The Fauquier Bank and the America Bankers Association have joined with the American Football Coaches Association, FBI's National Child ID Program, Prince William County Police, Town of Haymarket Police Department, Fauquier County Sheriff's Department, and Warrenton Town Police to take part in one of the largest child safety campaigns in the country.

The National Child Identification Program was created by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) to provide a child safety tool for parents across the country. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) partnered with the AFCA, making the initiative the only program of its kind to be endorsed by the FBI.  As sponsors, The American Bankers Association and The Fauquier Bank will supply Child ID Kits to children in our local communities.

The Child ID Kit is the only FBI-approved DNA/fingerprinting kit of its kind.  It provides parents with a private, non-intrusive means of collecting their child's identifiable information (including fingerprints, DNA, physical characteristics and picture) to be recorded and stored at home.  In the event of an emergency, the Child ID Kit can be turned over to law enforcement, providing vital information that can assist efforts in locating a missing child.

On Thursday, December 1st from 11am to 2pm, The Fauquier Bank, along with Prince William County Police, Town of Haymarket Police Department, Fauquier County Sheriff's Department, and Warrenton Town Police, will be distributing Child ID Kits at the Old Town Warrenton, Bealeton, and Haymarket branches.   For branch addresses, please visit fauquierbank.com.  For more information on this event, please contact Diane Wilson, Marketing Officer for The Fauquier Bank at (540) 347-2700.
