Looking at a world map, the "Greater BRICS" today covers 31 percent of the global land area, 46 percent of the world's population, and 20 percent of global trade. Its oil production and reserves account for approximately 40 percent of the global energy landscape. The BRICS mechanism leads the rise of the "Global South," and the historic elevation of BRICS' global influence is a concrete manifestation of the collective rise of the "Global South."
