The Grand Rapids Junior Chamber reveals the 2016 Art Van Santa Parade's Grand Marshal as City Mayor Rosalynn Bliss and Guest of Honor as Singer Jacob Davis
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- History will be made when the 2016 Art Van Santa Parade presented by the Grand Rapids Jaycees marches down Monroe Street on November 19th, 2016.
Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, the first female Mayor for the City of Grand Rapids, will preside as the Grand Marshal. She is President of the Michigan Municipal League while also serving on the boards of the Downtown Development Authority, Experience Grand Rapids, Grand Valley Metro Council, Kent County Land Bank Authority, and Interurban Transit Partnership, to name a few. She has been honored as one of Crain's 100 Most Influential Women, Grand Rapids Business Journal's 50 Most influential Women in West Michigan, as well as a Five-time recipient of the Grand Rapids Business Journal's 50 Under Forty distinction.
In addition, singer/songwriter Jacob Davis will be the Guest of Honor of the 2016 Art Van Santa Parade presented by the Grand Rapids Jaycees. Jacob Davis started playing music at the age of 13 and has never stopped. Jacob moved to Nashville at the age of 23, where he soon signed a publishing deal with Wrensong/Reynsong Music. In the past few years, he has opened for artists such as Sam Hunt and Michael Ray playing singles such as "Something to Remember You By" and "Sugarcoated." In addition to shows around the country, Davis will perform for the citizens of West Michigan at the parade.

The Parade kicks off November 19st - 9am at the corner of Michigan St. NW and Monroe Ave., and continuing south on Monroe past Rosa Parks Circle. The parade will conclude just past the intersection of Fulton St. and Monroe Ave, and features more than 100 entries, including 10 musical acts, 5 large balloons, 14 professionally designed floats, and more!
