LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Great Fort Building Competition and party has announced a National US tour for 2015. "Yes, you read correctly. This is a thing. It finally exists, for adults. The G.F.B.C. is everything you ever wanted, but with food, music and booze. The feeling you are having is your inner child jumping up and down in excitement," said Mike Capes, Youtube Personality and Great Fort Building Competition Spokesperson. "To be clear- we are not talking about a small pop-up in the corner of your living room. Your fort better be able to take on an army of Mongol Warriors. You have 3 hours! Do something [...] cool with it. This may be your only shot at greatness."
Teams of 'builders' [attendees] have 3 hours to create a Fort using things like boxes, tape, pillows, blankets, and zip ties. Selected winning teams in each city are invited to the finals [location not announced], where a single team wins the National Championship. The competition has a cash prize of US $2K in each market. Judges include a Celebrity Architect [not yet announced], a Celebrity Interior Designer [not yet announced], and Mike Capes [youtube personality, spokesperson and self proclaimed master fort builder].
G.F.B.C. live events include activities for 'builders' through the night including a DJ, interactive games, food trucks, and VIP bar/lounge [21+]. The competition also uses the technology of RF activated wristbands on attendees to aid in event game play.
