LOS ANGELES, May 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
"Searching dance-pop ballads from elfin dreamers ... Encounter glides by like Lady Gaga on a unicorn. Sunde gives synth-diva histrionics a mystical spritz, singing about dragons and black magic over skittering electro beats." - Rolling Stone
"Encounter is a hook fueled, emotional songscape - with powerful tracks and soaring, achingly beautiful vocals." - Jackson Browne
"'Encounter' is so, so good" - Larry Flick, Sirius XM
The Green Children announce the release of their debut album "Encounter" at Whole Foods Market. The album is currently available in the Southwest and So Pacific regions with 100% of proceeds benefiting Whole Planet Foundation. The Green Children have already raised over $7,000 from previous campaigns and online donations. The funds raised will go towards extending the reach of microcredit to poor women in the Kerala region of India.
In June, The Green Children will perform a weekly residency at the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles, every Sunday at 10pm. Advance tickets are now available from GrooveTickets.
On July 7th The Green Children will perform at Summerfest in Milwaukee, the world's largest music festival. Their song "Skies On Fire" was voted as the #1 track for the festival's free CD. They will also perform on the main stage at Sommerfesten in Giske, Norway on July 30th.
The Green Children are Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan, a musical duo whose songs blend ethereal pop with post-modern dance beats. The two European-born artists met while attending the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts, an English university co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney. Their debut album "Encounter" is out now on Spinside Records, the independent label formed by Ethan Browne and a subsidiary of Inside Recordings, distributed by ADA.
Whole Planet Foundation was established by Whole Foods Market to help extend the reach of microcredit to poor women and support the developing world communities that supply their stores with product.
