GLENCOE, Ill., March 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The House Tutoring Lounge®, a student-centered space where students enjoy Homework Help and On-Demand Tutoring while they study, announced today the launch of The Virtual House - their online tutoring platform in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Teens will now have online access to The House's roster of nearly 100 expert tutors, who can help students with any subject matter at any time. Just as the students request help as they need It in the lounge, they will do the same from home.
Through the company's online portal, their members can receive free homework assistance, or conduct either On-Demand or scheduled private tutoring. Their paid tutoring services are still available to anyone. The House's tutors are locally based in the Chicago area, with many holding advanced Ph.D. degrees and impressive teaching credentials. The company's platform makes remote tutoring simple through its face-to-face video connections and document sharing capabilities. Each online session is customized to match the student's needs and their preferred timeframe with the best suited tutor.
"Through our very successful in-person lounge we've developed a thriving community of students, and brilliant and passionate tutors," said Gil Gibori, CEO and Founder of The House Tutoring Lounge®.
"We've extended this to our online portal mainly in response to COVID-19 and plan on running it permanently, even when the virus pandemic ends," co-founder Carrie Gibori added. "We're excited to offer our current and new students flexibility and convenience of our extending the on-demand help services of The House to their home."
With universities sending everyone home, The House is also opening its doors to the displaced college students in addition to local students dealing with school closings.
The company's Glencoe in-person study lounge will remain open to all students. It is ramping up its already stringent cleaning protocols in order to ensure that it is as safe as possible. These measures include disinfecting surfaces and people's hands every hour and paying close attention to CDC-identified COVID-19 symptoms among visitors and staff.
Gil Gibori notes, "The House is determined to be a sanctuary and source of support for students and families during this crisis."
