
The Jewish High School of Connecticut Celebrates Leo Nevas Pioneers
Parents, Leaders & Philanthropists Welcome Southern Connecticut's First Pluralistic Jewish High School
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jewish High School of Connecticut ("JHSC") officially welcomed and celebrated its first class of students and families with a Hannukat HaBayit (Dedication of the high school). Senator Joseph Lieberman offered the keynote address and Rabbi James Prosnit officially welcomed JHSC with the invocation.

"Today, we celebrate our students – the Leo Nevas Pioneers at JHSC –and mark the first day of our high school," said Rabbi Edward Harwitz, Head of School. JHSC, a co-educational high school serving 9-12 grade students from all Jewish backgrounds, is unique in mission and educational philosophy. The high school will provide a rigorous, curriculum in general and Jewish, athletics and the arts in a supportive environment that encourages spirited discussion and cultivates critical thinking.
