The LaSalle Group, Inc. Announces Key Leadership Moves Prompted by Growth
John Barbee Promoted to President; Jessica Akaah Elected to Vice Chairman
IRVING, Texas, March 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The LaSalle Group, Inc., the family-owned-and-operated national leader in memory care assisted living, has announced key leadership moves resulting from the expansion of its network of Autumn Leaves® communities to 50 locations in nine states. The changes will allow the company to continue to enhance the quality of care and level of services it provides to those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
John W. Barbee has been promoted to President of The LaSalle Group. With more than 30 years in real estate development and construction, and 10 years with LaSalle specifically in senior assisted living, Mr. Barbee has been instrumental in the company's growth and rise as an industry leader in standalone memory care. In his expanded role, Mr. Barbee will lead the execution of LaSalle's strategic business and financial partnerships while overseeing certain aspects of LaSalle's daily operations and serving as an added resource to the company's officers and employees at the home office and in the field. He will also continue to manage LaSalle's development, construction, and design divisions and provide organizational leadership across the company.
The company has also elected Jessica C. Akaah to Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ms. Akaah, a member of the founding ownership family, had previously served as Senior Vice President of Management, as well as in various roles in regional and community leadership over the last decade. As Vice Chairman, she will be broadening the Board's membership to include non-family directors with a broad range of industry experiences, talents, and perspectives. The expansion of the Board is a vital step in LaSalle enhancing its industry leadership position as it continues to grow.
