He was originally admitted to the practice on February 2, 1987. Since 1987, Kohn has provided legal assistance to the people of the Bronx, the other four boroughs, and the surrounding areas including Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Nassau Counties, as well as New Jersey.

Kohn was born and raised in the Bronx. After graduating from Bronx High School of Science, he attained a bachelor's degree from SUNY Buffalo. He moved to Michigan to attend Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing. After graduating from law school cum laude, Kohn returned to the Bronx to build his practice representing individuals as an auto accident attorney.
