The Liberty & Freedom Foundation Welcomes Fleet Week Back to San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Liberty & Freedom Foundation (LFF) is proud to welcome the United States Navy back to San Francisco from October 7-12 for Fleet Week 2010.
Thousands of visiting Sailors and Marines from the Amphibious Assault Ship USS Makin Island, with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked, Guided Missile Destroyer USS Pinckney, Guided Missile Frigate USS Curts, Mine Counter Measure ships USS Pioneer and USS Chief, Coast Guard Cutter USCGS Active and Canadian Coastal Defence Vessels HMCS Whitehorse and HMCS Brandon will have the opportunity to enjoy San Francisco's world renown tourist sights and charms.
The Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squad will thrill the city with performances along the Embarcadero on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, capping an air show from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The sight of so many of our nation's heroes back in San Francisco will hearken back to the days when the city was known for Navy pride – in fact a key hub of the Pacific Fleet during World War II and in the decades that followed. Sadly, the liberal policies of elected Bay Area leaders slowly drove the military out to the friendlier political climates of the Pacific Northwest, San Diego and Hawaii, while squandering a substantial part of the Bay Area's economy.
In keeping with conservative traditions and patriotic themes, the Liberty & Freedom Foundation is proud to sponsor a San Francisco Bay Area Forum with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on Thursday, October 14th, 2010 beginning at 3:00 pm. As part of her recent appearances nationwide to discuss a broad range of topics that are important to the American people, Governor Palin will speak at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, followed by a VIP reception and dinner.
Tickets for the event are available through LFF's website, www.liberty-freedom.org and through the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, www.sjtix.org or (408) 792-4111. For those interested in the reception, dinner and sponsorship opportunities, please contact LFF via their website or (415) 994-3524.
