Diverse Induction Class Highlights Far-Reaching Contributions of Long Island Artists
PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHoF) is proud to announce its Third Induction Award Ceremony and Fundraising Gala, which will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at the famed Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY. Major stars from the Latin, hip-hop, classical, metal, gospel, folk, jazz, rock 'n roll, and oldies worlds will be joined by past inductees and celebrity presenters at the ceremony.

LIMHoF will also present the 2010 Music Educator of Note Award to a recipient who will be selected by November 1 and will formally present the 2009 Award to the family of Joseph Sugar, who passed away in 2009.
Inductees are selected from an evolving and growing list of people, artists, groups and entities that were born, raised, founded or have resided on geographic Long Island (Brooklyn/Queens/Nassau/Suffolk) for a significant portion of their career.

Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHOF) is a 501(c)(3) museum and membership organization dedicated to the idea that Long Island's musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. The organization defines Long Island geographically as Kings, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. The Hall of Fame sponsors the Long Island Sound Award (LISA), traveling educational exhibits, and a scholarship program. It is also creating a museum home where the story of the Island's musical heritage will be told.
