The Mississippi Gulf Coast Council of Garden Clubs Presents Annual Spring Pilgrimage Featuring Stunning Coastal Treasures
Thousands Expected to Attend the 61st Tour of Homes, Gardens and Historic Places March 16 - March 24, 2013
GULFPORT, Miss., Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Beautiful homes, gardens and historic locations are being prepared for visitors as The Mississippi Gulf Coast Council of Garden Clubs organizes its 61st Spring Pilgrimage.
Scheduled for March 16 - March 24, the eight-day event will feature approximately 40 elegant homes, gardens and historic landmarks along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, all free of charge to visit, thanks to the Gulf Coast Garden Clubs and Business sponsors.
The opening ceremony will be held at the "Old Brick House" in Biloxi on Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The closing ceremony will be at the Blacklidge home in Gulfport on Sunday, March 24 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The eight days of pilgrimage are packed full of homes, gardens and churches in Biloxi, Gautier, Moss Point, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, Gulf Hills, Long Beach, Diamondhead, Pass Christian and Gulfport. Biloxi Historical Day includes 11 sites plus Beauvoir.
On Friday, March 22, a luncheon and fashion show will be held at historic Gulf Hills Hotel in Ocean Springs. Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. The event is a fundraiser for The Mississippi Gulf Coast Council of Garden Clubs and will include a silent auction and jewelry sale.
