The Money Services Business Association (MSBA) Launched, Board of Directors Announced
NEWARK, New Jersey, October 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Leading industry companies launched The Money Services Business Association (MSBA) this month and appointed Alberto Laureano, CEO of Barri Financial Group LLC, as Chairman to lead the organization in educating the regulators, media and the public about the beneficial and secure services provided by MSBA members.
Earlier this month the MSBA held its first Board Meeting in Kansas City in conjunction with the Money Transmitters Regulator Association's (MTRA) annual conference. The Association was started to establish an industry led organization that supports the non-bank financial services industry and encourages the continued innovation and development in the payments industry while assisting in the education and communication with Federal and State Regulators.
The Association has 24 founding members. They elected the following Board Members that will guide the membership this first year:
- Laybaa Hernandez, DolEx Dollar Express Inc.
- Nicole Ibbotson, InComm Financial Services Inc.
- Alberto Laureano, Barri Financial Group LLC
- Marcelo Licht, TransferTo Inc.
- Phu Nguyen, Saigon Central Post Inc.
- Jose Carlos Pereira, Real Transfer
- Suresh Ramamurthi, Yantra Services Inc.
- John Ricci, Green Dot Corporation
- Joana Santos, Novacambios.
The MSBA also named Kathy Tomasofsky as Acting Director. Ms. Tomasofsky brings over 20 years of financial services and association management skills to the MSBA, and most recently served as the Senior Director of Operations at the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association.
