TORONTO, June 12, 2015 /CNW/ - The Morguard Corporation, one of Canada's most well respected and diversified real estate portfolios operating across North America, has partnered with Wyse Meter Solutions for their submetering and utility expense management. The initial project includes the iconic "Leaside Towers"; two landmark buildings along Toronto's Don Valley Parkway.
Electricity Prices are set for a big jump in January as the OCEB credit comes to an end in Ontario and a special province wide charge is levied to pay for the new Ontario Electricity Support Program, a subsidy for low income households. Lower income Ontarians living in a submetered building will get a significant credit on their electricity bill. Those who pay electricity as part of rent will not be eligible for this subsidy.
"We couldn't be more pleased that Morguard selected Wyse as their partner. They are extremely well respected and their decision to implement a submetering program was carefully measured," says Leah Werry, Director of Sales at Wyse. "By submetering now, Morguard can mitigate the impact of the coming price increases on their operating expenses and ensure their tenants who need a little assistance can take advantage of the new OESP subsidy."
