LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The NALA (www.theNALA.com), National Association of Local Advertisers will donate $1 to non-profit, veteran service organization, The Greatest Generations Foundation (TGGF) for every new LIKE on the NALA's Facebook page.
"The NALA is thrilled to feature TGGF in their charity program and encourages everyone to participate for free by simply "liking" the NALA on Facebook. Just one click and you can help send a veteran on a journey of a lifetime," says CEO, Jeffrey Rosenthal.
The World War II veterans, representing the Army, Army Air Corps, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard, will journey to Pearl Harbor to commemorate the 66th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day, September 2, 1945. The program will include visits to the USS Arizona memorial, the USS Missouri, the Pacific Aviation Museum, and other historic WWII sites.
Since 2004, TGGF (www.tggf.us) has offered free journeys to former battle sites for World War II veterans. These voyages back to the battlefields can be emotional – after all, they remind us all of the heartbreaking toll war takes on human lives. But the journey provides veterans a measure of closure on their war experience, the chance to share in the gratitude for their service, and a venue to educate others.
Please visit www.theNALA.com/charity for more information on this special promotion and collaboration between the NALA and TGGF. We also encourage you to visit one of the many neighborhood businesses supporting TGGF. You can find the participating businesses at www.theNALA.com/directory.
