The Paliwoda Group Launches Fund Initiative for NYC-Based Mobile Internet Startups

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- In an additional boost to New York City's growing "Silicon Alley" scene, The Paliwoda Group today announced it is expanding its investments in the city's ecosystem of innovative and creative startups. The firm will use its new Mobile Info Solutions Fund to offer seed-stage investments to NYC-based projects across the mobile Internet sector -- including location-based services, social networking, mCommerce (advertising and payments), communication, and entertainment. Applications will be accepted beginning January, 2011.

The Mobile Info Solutions Fund will tailor its investment to the value propositions offered by each selected company. "We want to develop long-term relationships with our entrepreneurs by defining the value we can add to a project not just though financial support, but also by providing mentoring opportunities to team members," said Ron Paliwoda, founder and President of The Paliwoda Group, "In many instances, challenges that a startup faces may be overcome by informed advice rather than just financial support that dilutes the equity of existing stakeholders."  

The Mobile Info Solutions Fund will back innovators with an eye towards building independent durable companies.  "We look for novel solutions to unique challenges within the mobile Internet sector," said Paliwoda, "We also look for agile teams that can rapidly adapt to change since business trends can shift significantly in the time it takes to bring a product to market."

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the most promising projects will be invited to meet with a member of the firm's Ventures investments team.  Projects will be announced as they are selected for funding, unless they choose to remain operating in stealth mode.
