The Perfect Spot Is Just Around The Corner In Berwyn
City's Marketing Campaign Promises a Trip that Delivers
BERWYN, Ill., July 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --The City of Berwyn and the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) are pleased to announce the launch of the City of Berwyn's 2010 Integrated Marketing Campaign.
"Berwyn has evolved from a bedroom community to a first choice destination in Chicago's near west suburbs," said Mayor Robert Lovero. "We have a fantastic housing stock marked by a significant concentration of brick bungalows and our location is defined by its convenience. It seems that you're never more than 15 minutes away from your next stop, either by rail or car. Living here or visiting is a proposition that caters to every walk of life, from your single professionals to families." Paul Zimmermann, President of the BDC, added, "Berwyn is truly a hidden gem, nestled just west of Chicago's South Loop. This community has a wonderfully diverse make-up of residents and a unique, independent business base to serve them. Beyond all of the statistics, I find that I am comfortable in this town. It is a good place to be, whether you call it home, do business here, or relax with dinner and entertainment. Berwyn has embraced growth, and I encourage the unacquainted to visit us."
Now in its fourth year, the 2010 campaign continues to brand Berwyn as a top-choice destination for move-up and first-time homebuyers. The 2010 campaign runs from June through September and includes billboards in select Chicago neighborhoods, posters on select CTA el platforms, direct-to-consumer outreach through special events and direct mailings, and an overhaul to the WHYBERWYN.com website. The billboards and platform posters will rotate throughout key-locations where high transit rider, automotive and pedestrian traffic counts exist. Online advertising will round out the marketing with additional geo-targeted exposure of the Berwyn brand in order to promote tourism and home ownership in Berwyn.
As in year's past, the campaign uses a bull's eye graphic to illustrate Berwyn's geographical convenience. This key visual component has helped raise Berwyn's visibility and established a brand presence for Berwyn among consumers and business professionals living throughout the Chicago area. At the close of the 2009, market research showed a remarkable 41% increase in overall positive perceptions about Berwyn even after a windfall in years past with a 54% increase in 2007 and a 76% in 2008. The effect has shown improved opinions about Berwyn's convenient location, value, housing stock, friendliness, and its attractiveness as both a destination and a place to live.
This year, the City of Berwyn has opted for a dual-message campaign. The first tagline, Rise & Shine in Berwyn, speaks to an aspirational message about opportunity and success and contains a modified bull's eye graphic designed as a rising sun. The second message, The Perfect Spot is Just Around the Corner, delivers the more practical message that speaks to Berwyn's convenience and quality of life and incorporates a modified bull's eye designed as the spot light shining from a street pole.
The WhyBerwyn.com website has been redesigned with the purpose of offering visitors the opportunity to discover the city's residential and commercial amenities and cultural hot spots to answer the question, "Why Berwyn?" The new site includes a comprehensive calendar of events that details the City's many festivals and recreational opportunities as well as a full local business listing to promote the business base and offer convenient access to Berwyn's hottest places to shop, dine and relax. For those who are not yet ready to "buy," the site offers a diverse mix of options for consumers to "try" Berwyn because the value will speak for itself.
