The Planetary Broadcast Network Season 2 Pledge Drive Begins
ROCKET CITY, Maine, July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "Neither snow nor rain nor mutant cricket swarms nor self-aware AIs shall deter the Planetary Broadcast Network from swiftly reporting the news of the world," said PBN General Manager Toby Blumenthal at a press briefing today, where he announced the beginning of the network's annual pledge drive. Speaking in front of the historic Hertz Building in downtown Rocket City, he added, "Keeping an oath like that requires vigilance, a strong liver, a crack team of reporters, and most of all, funding."
PBN's lead anchorman, James Dixon, also reached out to listeners during his evening broadcast last night, saying, "When police, National Guard, and Gravity Scout units clashed with Robot Personhood protesters in the capitol, PBN was first on the scene to bring you eyewitness accounts of the violence. We need your help to continue broadcasting this kind of hard-hitting news. It's what makes our listeners the most informed citizens in the US of A." He went on to remind the audience that the Planetary Broadcast Network is an independent broadcast company, supported by the contributions of its listeners.
The pledge drive, scheduled to run from now through the end of July, gives listeners the opportunity to pledge their support for a little as one dollar. In return, the network is offering unique, limited edition PBN memorabilia as thank you gifts to those who contribute five dollars or more to the noble cause of journalistic excellence. These gifts include bumper stickers, coffee mugs, t-shirts, towels, and much, much more. There is even a very exclusive cookbook featuring all of James Dixon's favorite Jibble gelatin recipes!

The Planetary Broadcast Network Evening News is an atom-punk retro-futurist podcast with 1950s pulp SciFi sensibilities. In addition to bringing listeners the latest in gel dessert recipe technology, the PBN broadcasts serve as a companion and guide to the secrets of the mobile game, Wavy Navy, produced by Lost Island Entertainment. Led by anchorman James Dixon, the PBN news team unravels the tale of a missing battleship, UFO sightings, the robot revolution, and a mysterious new political organization known as the Collective. Season 2 is now ready for production, and with your pledges, this epic tale of politics, alien invasions, and sentient AI will take to the airwaves!
